The Aum Shinrikyo cult made 5,500 people sick by releasing sarin gas in the Toyko subway. The US bombed the hell out of Iraq starting the ill-conceived Second Gulf War. Born today: Ovid, Ozzie Nelson, Ibsen, Michael Redgrave, Carl Reiner, Spike Lee and Holly Hunter. James Cagney died.
